Microaggression is a form of bullying. A microaggression is a prejudiced attitude toward another individual or group, expressed deliberately or through the unintentional use of poorly chosen words that stereotype. Some forms of microaggression seem more innocent than others; however, other expressions of prejudiced attitudes are meant to harm and express racial dominance. During the early stages of bullying event recovery and organizational culture change, it will be critical to identify microaggressions and help non-functional teams learn to communicate in healthier ways.
The book An Organizational Approach to Workplace Bullying examines organizational culture and wellness in the presence of bully triads. The book includes ideas for assessment and performance improvement concerning organizational culture. The book addresses possible approaches to improve workplace culture and organizational wellness and to create bully-free environments.
