Sick Systems and Bullies

Sick systems such as toxic organizations, unhealthy political groups, or dysfunctional relationships are a product of both ongoing and unmanaged crisis and intermittent gratification. Sick systems are filled with bullies triads that create chaos and justices issues regarding biased rewards and recognition. A healthy organizational, political group or relationship will expose bullies and the practices that foster their rise to power. Assessing organizational culture to pinpoint the breeding factors for workplace or relationship bullies is an essential first step. The foundation for workplace or relationship culture is derived from both sociological and archeological functions. For example, how an organizational or relationship culture is defined can be the starting point for establishing healthy boundaries or the revision of existing standards and policies and procedures of the workplace. This may encompass examining the values, assumptions, expectations, and the names or definitions that are assigned to members, groups, and subcultures. Organizational and relationship culture determines performance consistently through the lean times as well as through times of excess, and a healthy culture reflects the level of good in prevailing attitudes, organizational and relationship memories, and norms.
